HANDLING

Fully automated sample laboratory

For the production of tensile and WSA samples. These are used for continuous quality control of the material in strip processing.

Procedure:

First the barcodes of the sheets are scanned. Then the individual samples are labeled. The tong trolley transports the sheets to the single-frame presses. There, the sample plates are punched out using various punching tools. The first press punches the WSA samples, which are used for the Erichsen test, among other things. The second press is equipped with a triple punching tool to punch longitudinal, transverse and diagonal specimens. The material properties of these samples are later determined in the tensile test. A robot on the back of the press picks up the samples and sorts them into different drawers according to type. Finally, the sheet is subjected to a ball impact test to check the zinc adhesion on its upper and lower sides before it is sorted by the 4-axis stroke manipulator into the retention container or onto the scrap conveyor.
