The HRP 160 in-drum compactor is designed as a hydraulic frame compactor and is used for compacting low-level radioactive operational waste inside 200 l drums. The frame press is protected against radiation on all sides by welded steel plates. A manually lockable swivel door is located at the front.
The press is loaded with the drum pallet and drums using industrial trucks through the front swivel door.
The movable drum pallet is equipped with spring-mounted heavy-duty ball rollers. The supply and exhaust air connection is located on the upper cover plate of the machine body. The drum is filled with the low-level radioactive waste to a certain level by the operating personnel via the two loading flaps. The press ram movement for compacting the waste is triggered by buttons.
