With the H&E tensioning and untensioning device, car axle springs are tensioned and secured against deflection with a device. The pre-tensioned car axle springs are blasted in a separate operation in a shot peening machine (stress peening) and then unlocked and untensioned with the H&E tensioning and untensioning device. The stress blasting process significantly increases the service life of highly stressed car axle springs.
